WASP-12b (or WASP-12 Ab) is a hot Jupiter who is slowly being eaten alive by WASP-12 A, its host star.

Bio

WASP-12b is an exoplanet being vaporized by the extreme heat of his star. Additionally, the gravitational pull of WASP-12 has stretched and distorted WASP-12b into an oblong, egg-like shape. WASP-12b's atmosphere is being boiled off into space by the solar wind, and due to its orbit decaying it will most likely crash into its star in the near future. He also wave arms very fast, just like pulsars. However, WASP-12b is doing this for help. It is clear that WASP-12b's life is miserable, and that he views it as a "curse".

Misinformation

Wasp-12b is actually not that dark, this is because of how close he is to his star. The reason people think he is black is becuase you can only get a good photo of him away from his star where is he isnt being eaten alive. Out there he is very dark, this is because of chemicals in his atmosphere.
