Alpha Centauri A, officially known as Rigil Kentaurus is the main star of the trinary system of Alpha Centauri, containing his wife Toliman and his adopted son, Proxima Centauri.

He is friendly and kind, he is the husband of Toliman and they live together in harmony. He is also one of the two stars in Sun's neighborhood to be a Yellow Dwarf, the other star is Tau Ceti.

- Rigil Kentaurus will not remain on Centaurus forever. Due to proper motion, Rigil Kentaurus will move to Hydra by 26,700 AD.
